Mixtec North America, Inc is a US corporation that operates under a consulting agreement with Mixtec (PTY) LTD of South Africa which ensures that customers get the same designs and quality across the globe.
Mixtec was founded in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa (RSA) in 1984 by Tim Clamp and Bill Baguely, who had been in the agitator business since their earliest days with UK-based APV/Kestner Industries. Kestner Industries was the original home of the current Mixtec-UK. Beginning in the early 1970s, APV became the exclusive agent for Philadelphia Gear for the Republic of South Africa as a sales, service and manufacturing operation in Johannesburg. Under the APV Group, Mixtec manufactured and designed a wide range of agitators and gearboxes until it became a stand alone organization in 1984.
In 1999, Salt Lake City-based WesTech Engineering, Inc. acquired Ore Sorters of North America [OSNA]) from Bateman in South Africa. Along with that acquisition, OSNA’s agreement with Mixtec to supply agitators to North America came along, too. WesTech acquired the rights to represent, design, manufacture, and supply agitators to the North American market through a joint venture called Mixtec North America. In 2007, a team of employees and interested investors purchased WesTech's interests in the relationship subsequently forming Mixtec North America, Inc. and moving into it's own fabrication facility.
In 2019 Mixtec North America moved to its current location in Salt Lake City with 30,000 square feet of manufacturing, storage, and office space. Today Mixtec North America, Inc operates under a consulting agreement with Mixtec (PTY) LTD of South Africa which ensures that customers get the same designs and quality across the globe.
