Medium Duty Mixing
The Mixtec 1000 series is a versatile, medium-duty range of mixers and agitators that consist of a motor, gearbox, and baseplate, is used for open tank applications and require base-plate mounting. The 1000 series is suitable for tanks that are too large to use direct drive (Series 250) mixers. The 1000 Series can be used for any open tank application with various mounting options available, including: Standard Flat Baseplate, Raised Baseplate (Often used in the water treatment industry) and Angle Riser (Mixer mounts at 10 Degrees). These can be mounted in the tank center when used with tank baffles or off-center without baffles. They can be adapted to a full range of vessel floors including conical, dished or flat bottoms. During the quotation stage Mixtec provides a general arrangement drawing which includes the live loads the mixer will exert to allow you to design a support structure capable of handling the loads produced. Mounting structures need to be rigid and robustly designed to prevent any flexing or twisting caused by the mixer, weak structures can lead to premature gearbox failure
Heavy Duty Open Tank Mixers
Heavy Duty 4000 Series Agitators are built to tackle the larger tanks, mainly used in the mining industry. Tanks can often reach 80 feet in diameter by 80 feet high. Mixtec welcomes the challenge, with shafts being manufactured over 70 feet long including 2 in-tank couplings we have been able to achieve a run out of only 1/8", well below the industry accepted average of 1/4" per 10' of shaft length.
Some of our larger installations include Mixtec's HA720 hydrofoils, at almost 26 feet in diameter each blade on the impeller weighs over 2,200 lb. With our larger HA736 impeller's, blades can exceed 5,500 lb each. With gear drives incorporating 450 HP motors power these agitators can reach 45+ tons. The most common 4000 series agitators we supply are in the mining industry, mostly for CIL & CIP applications, but also for neutralization tanks, cyanide destruction, surge & buffer tanks.
Other applications include very large wastewater treatment plants with 4000 series mixers for in the anoxic and anaerobic zones and large acid mine water neutralization plants.
